Description: After an amazing performance that involved many standing ovations and bows, Raul says a few words to the audience. What follows was 5-10 minutes of total inspiration. He talked about the journey of Company, how much he loves the cast, how grateful they all are for our support, etc. Towards the end he apologizes if he is sounding pretentious, but he considers all of his castmates artists. I got my camera out for the very end of the speech and the audience leaping to their feet at it's conclusion, just as they did as soon as he hit the last note of Being Alive. Also, so it's known, after the show Raul made sure to sign for and take photos with every. single. person. waiting to meet him at the stage door. He is a wonderful, gracious actor. This clip might seem strange out of context, but I'm posting it anyway. |

Smilez6711 ::: Favorites 2007-08-26 21:29:49 I just posted it--sorry it's taken me so long! I wasn't lucky enough to be that close (second to last row of balcony, actually), but it's all there! It was an amazing night. I posted it as "Company Closing Night Speech" __________________________________________________
mpsmithpt ::: Favorites 2007-08-04 22:35:14 I was there...2nd row (as a matter of fact, I can even see myself for a second or two around 0:33)!!! He gave an amazing, moving performance and his speech was incredible. The whole cast was unbelievable and I'm baffled as to why they didn't sell out every night! It was by grace of God that we were there; we bought the tickets because we found 2nd row seats less than 2 weeks before our trip. Also, Sean Patrick Leonard from Dead Poets' Society and House was a few rows behind me. __________________________________________________
jmdixon ::: Favorites 2007-07-30 00:52:02 I was just a few rows behind you that afternoon! If you had panned just a little more to the right I probably would have been in the video! Great speech and even better performance - I was just listening to the CD today, and I cannot wait until they broadcast/release the recording they made the day before!!! __________________________________________________
