Elvis  Presley-First  Line

Description:

Elvis Presley-First In Line Recorded September 1956 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, CA On Elvis LP released October 1956 and The Complete 50's Masters When they gave out eyes like diamonds That would shame the stars that shine My darlin' my darlin' You were the first in line When they gave out lips like honey That hold a new thrill every time My darlin' my darlin' You were the first in line There may be others that know you longer Who pledge their hearts to you But there's no other could love you stronger Any stronger than I do Don't refuse me, say you'll choose me I am yours, oh please be mine My darlin' say I'm your darlin' The first, and the last in line

Have never heard this song before. Elvis has such beautiful voice. Love the song and photos. Jackie you seem to have a lot of unnoticed Elvis photos. Where do you get them. Thank you for the posting.

This is a beautiful Elvis song and it showcases his talent with ballads. The echo is a nice touch.

I agree wholeheartedly. When his music plays that untouchable deepest part of who I am becomes like a moth to his flame...I can't put a finger on it, I can only listen, wonder and remember. It wouldn't surprise me that when he arrived at the "Pearly Gates" he had fans waiting for him there also. Thanks for the videos

One of my favourite Elvis tracks. Originally this was hard to find and seemed only available on the 56 sessions volume 2.

Yes. I believe he was not allowed to fulfill his true destiny (although his legacy is magnificent!) by those who had their own personal agenda to make as much money off of him as possible, and his own feelings and needs were not considered important; and yes, they "just used him up"

All that success and I believe he would have had more to give if he had just been given the chance...the big bad world just used him up, when we should have been protecting him.

This is one of the dreamiest songs he's ever sung...I used to play it at least 5 times a day in my teens. Thanks for posting this...loved the photos, it's the Elvis I know and remember.

This song was the first song Ben Weisman wrote for Elvis. He recorded it September 3, 1956 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood. It is available on The King of Rock 'n' Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, which is where this version is from.

"A lot has been written and said about why he was so great, but I think the best way to appreciate his greatness is just to go back and play some of the old records...Time has a way of being very unkind to old records, but Elvis' keep getting better and better." Huey Lewis

Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide, more than any other artist. His American sales have earned him gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards for 150 different albums and singles, far more than any other artist. Research is also underway to document his record sales achievements in other countries. It is estimated that 40% of Elvis' total record sales have been outside the United States.
