Dave, if I was to record a video with your same exat words, except replacing "african-americans" with "white-amerians", do you think people would call me racists? gary

Perhaps some might call you a racist...I'd just say that the two terms aren't interchangeable in this circumstance. None of the Democratic presidential candidates are posed to win the "white vote," and since (for better or worse) most blacks will be voting Democratic, I think it's a fair question.

Dave, I still see it as a legitimate analogy, replacing "black" with white, yellow, or whatever. It just feels wrong to me. Much of what you see as "black" issues, I see as economic issues. I live in California, so perhaps I'm just not as familiar with race-specific issues as you. For me skin color is an unnecessary distinction. gary

I see Americans - not colors - I think you see colors! Too Bad - Try focusing on the whole group of people first - then the cultures and heritages!!! SparklestheClown

Unfortunately most of your country and mine and indeed the world don't see it that way. Good question mate ; )

I understand your plight; however, you must think about EVERYTHING in terms of context. That's wonderful that you see nothing in terms of color( reality), but obviously, unless you don't travel much, there is still an issue of race in this country. There's not much overt racism anymore, but with issues of political correctness, black nationalists, and a south that is slow to change, it is still prevelent, I believe. Ninja Gaiden.

Also, it's wholly understandable that you don't see color as an issue, as you are dressed up as a clown. We see pigments, you see rainbows. I believe that this is a completely viable question that I'd be asking too, had I been born a minority with a misidentified, misinterpreted, and mistreated history in America. Jim Crow ain't around anymore, but he left influence, believe that.

Sorry to disappoint you. I see lots of different colors - I just don't think that matters. I was born in Germany - came over in 1958 - and there was alot of negative toward Germans at that time. I simply mean there should not be so much emphasis on color and more emphasis on Americans first, and then heritage and culture that surrounds that specific person. Many of us have friends, family, and associates from all nationalities/races. Let's grow up! SparklestheClown

I agree, "let's grow up." It's just hard getting a lot of others to do that; hence, it's still an issue.

I don't think anyone would call you a bigot so long as your Question is not a racist remark or having rasist tones.
